Hi all:
I just had a project where I mounted Go Pros onto two golf carts. I just looked at the footage a much of it is unusable because of shake. I tried all of the tricks, not extending the suction cup mount, placing it at a low point on the cart for a lower center of gravity, etc. but it's still a lot of bad, unusable footage, largely due to the small diameter wheelbase and the rougher areas we drove the golf carts in. I researched wearable gimbals and just ordered a Zhiyun Rider-M. I have a Zhiyun Crane for the 80D and love it, it's one of my favorite pieces of gear I have recently bought so I know basically what I am getting. I mostly only need it for car, golf cart, kind of shots but in looking at YouTube, you are only limited by your imagination as to where you place your Go Pro with the Rider-M to smooth it out. Doing mini crane shots with a selfie stick could be fun and handy for certain things, of course. I will be on a shoot in Rio in the Spring and I can imagine the producer wanting to get some smooth car footage, driving around town. I have shot tons of Go Pro car footage and sometimes you have smooth roads and luck out and other times, the damn roads are so rough, you get very little usable footage.
Anyone else here have car experience using the Rider-M?
