Anyone use the AT 835ST as an on-camera mic?

I need to get a boom mic to use as an on-camera mic, and have narrowed it down to to choices, the AT 4073A and AT 835ST. Found a lot about the 4073A, practically nothing on the 835ST. I'm not much of a sound guy, but it seems that in theory the 835 is more versitile. Does anyone know if it operates well as a camera mounted mic?

Hey sebbalicious-

I don't know when you plan to get this mic but I just ordered a 4037a yesterday and expect to receive it in about a week or so. I'll let you know how it performs.

the 4073 is a better mic than the mono 835. i don't know the stereo version, but if it uses the same element as the regular 835, then i'd get the 4073. a good mic is more versatile than a mediocre stereo mic. most folks would tell you that a stereo mic is less versatile anyhow.
