Greetings! I'm wondering if any DVXUsers have experience with iSCSI storage in a shared production environment.
I'm setting up some studios for collaborative work, primarily in music, and iSCSI looks like the best way to go (since most music production software doesn't like network storage).
Of course, the downside of iSCSI is that it doesn't provide safeguards to prevent multiple users from clobbering each others files (or drive directories, etc).
Some companies provide software that supposedly allows multiple users to share iSCSI drives without such problems (like StudioNetworkSolutions SanMP software).
Anyone have any experience with these issues? Any solutions other than the pricy SanMP? Anyone knowof any iSCSI initiators that allow drives to be mounted as RW or RO, depending on account/password?
Thanks,
Barry
