Anyone use IndieFocus?

The original indifocus did have a lot of play, but that was a few years ago. The current indifocus Pro is a great piece of kit. I actually have the original but upgraded my gearbox to the new model and I'm extremely happy with the Price/ Performance they offer. I also have Indirails XV and and IndiMatte. If I had it to do all over again I would probably get the RedRock Matte box but it was not available when I needed it back in 2008. I like the Indimatte but it does wobble a bit due to the swing away hinge, but I have to say the the swing away feature has spoiled me when using my Letus.

I think he means you can turn the wheel 4mm before the gear turns, but even with my old gear box before the upgrade it was not nearly that bad and now as soon as you make any movement the gear moves with the indifocus Pro Gearbox installed. There are plenty indifocus users here I'm surprised no one else is chiming in.

Just used mine to pull a short film, I like the price it performs very well for what it costs, I like cinevate's Durus more but they are completly difference price scale, I believe the tolerence with the rail clamp is off i have trouble fitting it to my brevis rail system, currently converting mine to a single clamp system, not sure if it will work.

I finally got it in the mail and there were no directions. It was just a bunch of peices. I emailed them twice in the last month and Iv gotten no responses. hopefully this will work out otherwise i'd say forget this company and look elsewhere for products. but we'll see.

I have always believed that in the film industry, you get what you pay for. If the gear is cheap, and in the case of Indiefocus, really cheap, it's more than likely does not possess good engineering or much build quality. A couple of my friends have tried the Indiefocus follow focus and were not pleased with it, and that was enough to steer me away. I've also heard that Indiefocus is a one man band - one guy designing, engineering, building, shipping, and dealing with customer service.

I paid for some rails on Indifocus for 2 weeks now and no replies/ no call backs and response to my messages - never got my rails and all the status says is processed... I would never trust them again - stay far...

The same thing happened to me. Just contact (call) Tim. He was kind enough to email me vids of the install process.

Dollar for dollar I'm pleased with the purchase.

I ordered rails from indifocus 2 weeks ago. The status just says "processed" as well. I have emailed them several times, and am still waiting. I have a shoot next week, and have no rails. Kinda' sucks if i have to rent them. Poor service so far.

I finally got the rails, and was surprised at how good the quality of the product is. The baseplate fits great, and the rods are sturdy. Some people made me feel skeptical about the carbon fiber rods, but I like the light weight. The product is solid.

follow focus i got from them was sloppy, matte box was bent, and emails never returned. cinevate is pricey but their products and customer service are hard to beat.

I used their FF and Rails for years with no problems at all. If Tim got a few more people in there to handle costumer service issues it would be nice. Overall I have had nothing but great service and products from them.
