Anyone use FeelWorld monitors?

Was on a shoot last week with this one and it actually seemed pretty great: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...ld_fwp173_9hsd_17_3_1920_x_1080.html/overview

Colors and exposure seemed pretty accurate. Great size & price. Image looked great - seemed comparable to the Panasonic LCD monitors that I see on set a lot. Thinking about buying one myself as I'd love to have a bigger monitor for studio stuff (and to move away from giving a client a flat screen TV that looks nothing like what I'm shooting in-camera....)

They've been around forever. Like many I've used a bunch of 7" ones over the years.

That's a pretty nice price for that size...people seem to like it from the few reviews.

They also make some nice-looking rack-mount multi screens which would be good for livestreaming or install applications. There's a 3RU dual monitor and a 2RU triple monitor and they take HDMI and 3G-SDI with loop outputs and tally lights. I haven't tried them but if this one you've mentioned was good then I'm more inclined to take the risk and see how they are.

I think feelworld at as bad as smallHD just 1/5 of the price.

If I were buying another monitor Id go feelworld befroe SmallHD.

Can anyone comment on Feelworld and Sony.

I have vearious devices that dont work a 24p - something to do with PSF or some other hell contraption of sony incompetence.

I used a Feelworld with a Sony a6300 in 4K/24p (23.98p).

Which devices don't work? (Keep in mind some monitors don't support a 4K signal...and maybe even true 24p for that matter.)

My FS7; I have trouble with SDi out on occassion - honestly Ive not have time to troublehoot but I think '24p' (p? psf? 23.98?) is a problem with many devices. My Small has got me out of a hole.

No slight on Feelworld. Move along :)

On our shoot we were using two Panasonic EVA-1's and would switch A/B with one plugged in via HDMI and one plugged in SDI. I want to say the one plugged in via HDMI looked great and accurate on screen and then the one plugged in via SDI with the exact same camera settings looked pretty bad. Images matched when analyzed on computer though. I'm not familiar with the EVA-1 and the one via SDI was a rental so maybe the EVA-1 sends a better signal via HDMI or there was some setting I'm unaware of on the rental camera .

Has anyone else noticed quality differences between HDMI and SDI connections?

For $600 it seems well worth taking a flyer on it. I'm temped to buy two of them and use one for me and one for client monitor.

Currently, 99% of equipment (especially prosumer hardware) sends out 4K via HDMI and only 1080p via SDI.

Even if the camera can output a 4K signal through 6G-SDI (maybe the EVA1 can, not sure), you'd most likely have to manually set it in the menu, and the monitor would also have to accept it (and 4K resolution monitoring via SDI is rare).

Also, a lot of HDMI outputs on cameras are set to automatically detect providing even greater odds for a 4K signal output (or at least a down-sample).

P.S. Here is another nice option for a bigger client monitor. (Not quite as big as 17" but maybe 12.5" is of interest if you're looking for two monitors.)

[You may have noticed I'm currently selling one, but that's not why I'm showing you; I just think it's a great monitor on sets that's pretty thin and lightweight, takes smaller batteries you may already have, and easy to travel with.]
