Anyone use a zoom-nikkor lense?

Over the weekend I used a 80-400mm zoom-nikkor lense however I noticed that when I'm just looking through the view finder and not pressing any buttons, I hear a click from the lense, and then i'll move the camera and i'll hear another click and so on.

I was wondering if that was normal behavior for this lense.

Could be the Vibration Reduction working.

Yeah i tried out another lense it seems that's the case. I didn't realize the VR was so loud. Thanks for the post though.
