Anyone use a DVRigPro with a Redrock M2?

I'm curious how well this work out and what else may be needed beyond the basics. I hate being on a tripod and usually avoid it at all costs. I have been using the DVRigPro with a Varizoom Stealth remote and I love how well it all works for me. But now I have decided to get the M2 and a microFollowFocus. I'm thinking I'm going to have get a tripod to mount all this on and I'd like to see how others have done. I also got a Marshall V-R70P-HDA and still am unsure how to mount that. Any help would be appreciated.

I used a bogan/Manfrotto quick release with the short plate. I countersunk the mounting hole on the receiver and used a bronze 1/4"x20 screw

Thanks for the pic. I like that connection you made for the Marshall. I'd prefer to have it on an arm so I can move it around, but then again your setup would be better considering I want to be on a shoulder rig. I bought my M2 from a guy on this site, so I'm hopping he's not going to rip me off and I should get it next week. When I do I'll be sure to post pictures!

You can put a ball head on top of the slide bracket. That way you have a quick connect and articulation.

I'd be interested in any pics and opinions as well. Neither are here yet...:violin: ... Can't imagine a LOT of run and gun with the M2...but I am wondering about the functionality of this type of set up.

I own both, but haven't put the combination together yet. The M2 with rails obviously adds a lot of weight. I'm not sure how balanced it will be on the DVRigPro.

Few DVX/DvRigPro/M2 users are using the combination successfully, You have to mount the camera all the way back on the plate and the QR base.

At least two of them promised to post photos...Never did...

I plan to make a special bracket to move the pod's support point farther forward, this will allow convenient use of all kind of front heavy set ups.

Can't be any more awkward than this...

....just looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

You know I see all those acccessories on those noga arms and I keep wondering how they are all connected. How do the noga arms mount on the rails? And the Marshall cones default with the holes fro screws on each sides. So does that ball at the end of the noga just fit into one small screw?

I hooked the M2 up to the HVX and mounted it all on the DVRigPro. Sweet! I got the redrock follow focus on it as well. I used some nuts to attach noga arms to the front of the DVRigPro in order to hold the Marshall monitor in front of me and the Firestore to my chest so I can make sure it's working right.

Now I'm getting the Marshall modified to use Panasonic batteries with an extra plug to power the M2. I'm also getting a Panasonic battery adapter to mount on the right side of the DVRigPro to power the Firestore with an extra plug to power a wireless transmitter. If I end up using the wireless transmitter, I'll be watching all in SD, so the composite with hook to the wireless connection, and the s-video will go to the marshall. Damn, that means I need to find a short s-video cable.

The Marshall comes back Monday, so I hope to post pictures if someone reminds me. Now if only I could mount this on a tripod, or get something to help me move the center of balance forward a bit.

hey konton, sounds great. can't wait to see the photos as i'd like to one day attempt this type of set up

Will do. Two things I am worried about. That's a matte box and tripod mount. I feel like a matte box would add too much weight to the front. But it would like nice. Also I'd rather mount the whole DVRigPro to a tripod than have to move around those NOGA arms.

HA! I wish I could! I'm pretty sure UPS dopped the modified marshall and extra parts at my house an hour ago. But I got work for another 4 hours. With any luck you'll all see them tomorrow. Oh a side note though I don't think I'll be adding a matte box to the front any time soon. But anyway check with me tomorrow. I hope to be testing it all out tonight.
