Anyone tried the new Manfrotto 504HD bridge head yet?

Dark Side of the Camera
Looks good and the price (400 Euros) is tempting.

They say it can handle DSLRs and also heavier rigs up to 16.5lb.
I wonder how it behaves when you abuse it in this upper range.
Actually my rig is 18lb - would be a great head if it could take that wight.

went to a seminar sponsored by Manfrotto last weekend. Had some small to big cameras on them. (sony EX, Canon5d and Sony F900) For the larger camera, the presenter was impressed and loved the smoothness but would not leave unattended as it may tilt, not able to hold lock.

Amazing price point. Very nice unit. I will have one soon.

I don't think I'd put an F900 (R or not) on a 16lb. rated tripod. That camera - especially if you ever plan to use a matte box and follow focus or larger Hytron battery should be on a 22lb. class head at minimum.
