Anyone tried 3d track motion yet.

vegas cannot do this. what vegas can sort of do is basic compositing. You can take a rendered element from a 3d package and layer it in with the plate. You can probably also do basic mattes. There are 3 classes of software you *need* to do this sort of thing:

3D software: (max, maya, xsi, lightwave) to make elements
Compositing software: (shake, combustion, aftereffects, digital fusion) to put the elements and the plate together seamlessly. (any keying would happen here too)
Editing software: To edit your film, and cut in any effects shots rendered from a compositing app, usually you would do all your final color corrects here too.

You are going to need to track your video. You've probably seen this done in 'making of' stuff. They use bright key marks like little green +'s to help the tracking software. You can track withought keys, but it's more difficult. Once you have the footage you'll have to track it. After Effects has tracking tools now, as does Commotion and Cumbustion. What i think you are really after is softward from 2D3 called boujou. In Boujou you can track camera movement, and then have that translated into a 3D path that popular animation programs can assign to the camera movement. I've used this to track a camera move and import it into LW[8]. It's simply amazing. Short of that, you are going to have to hand animate the camera move in your 3D software which is time consuming and tedious. Good luck
