Anyone shooting fireworks?

Is anyone shooting fireworks with the FS700? I've got an opportunity to get a nice vantage point on some gigs, but I just don't know if the low light sensitivity is up to shooting clean-ish, relatively noiseless footage in those conditions...?

I would be shooting with the Zeiss 50mm f/1.4, or the Sony/Zeiss 28mm f/1.8. I have the kit lens, but I can't imagine it would be fast enough, and I would hope to be pretty close.

Cheers!

Fireworks are usually quite bright. The sky behind will be black of course, but I think you'll find you will actually need to stop down.

yes agreed, I shot some fireworks with an EX1 couple years back that were great. I have a link somewhere. I was stopped down a couple stops if I recall. easily within range
of any good lens.

Thanks! Guess I was thinking in terms of having the BG visible, since it's likely to be somewhere related to the show / interesting (castles, etc), but I guess it's going to be really tricky to do both.

Atticus I think you can do it if you can control the fire works release timing a bit. I shot some as the festivities began at dusk and the trees and water were reading nicely. It makes a great shot.
