Anyone purchased from PriceritePhoto.com?

PriceritePhoto.com is selling the DVX 100A for $2,989.00
Are they legit? I will be purchasing a DVX soon and need to know. If they are legit, that price is awesome.

Thanks

Maybe one of the moderators can put a post that is like a sticky at the top of this topic and a few  others so that we dont have to answer this over and over and over again.. lol

No offense to the fella who posted it of course ;)

Fred--I've been meaning to do exactly that! We really need it.

I have purchased from priceritephoto and I would advise you not to. I don't want to get long-winded here but I'll try to recap my experience.

I purchased a dvx-100 for a project last january. at that time, the camera, two lens adapters, case, tripod, warranty, tapes, etc. cost $3499. that's what I paid. on january 27, when my camera arrived, there were no lens adapters, no tapes, no warranty. the tripod, which I indicated I didn't really want but the sales guy said he'd throw in for nothing, was plastic and funky and really not very useable. the case that was sent, and recommended by the sales guy, wasn't big enough for the camera and a tuna sandwich. one or the other. Originally, I had said I didn't want the tripod because I wanted a shotgun mike instead. that's when the sales guy said he'd thrown in the tripod.

I sent an email immediately asking where the rest of the gear was. It was also conveniently NOT listed on the invoice, so I knew I had to do something quickly. Over the next month, I exchanged several emails with my original sales guy and a woman named Nilda, who was very nice and acted like she wanted to help but in the end was pretty ineffective. The shotgun mike eventually showed up. still no lens adapters (wide and tele angles), no warranty, etc. I had purchased the gear through a friend's credit card and paid her cash. she contacted the card company but after about five months they didn't do anything and I wasn't seeing her any more so she wasn't too motivated to assist. because I didn't get all the gear in time, I missed out on the project that I bought the camera for. so I decided to sell it on ebay, which I did, for a $400 loss. in the meantime, nilda sent me another tripod and another camera case, but no lens adapters, and the adapters were really all I wanted. so I sent yet another letter and finally got a series of calls from steve phillips, who represented himself as the manager. his style and tactics were to try to intimidate and harass me and in one day he called more than a dozen times, alternately menacing and cajoling. he eventually agreed to send the adapters if we stopped the credit card reversal. I agreed if the adapters were received within seven days.

ten days later, no adapters. after another round of contact, I received one adapter, the tele adapter. by this time I had sold the camera and promised the purchaser the two adapters since it seemed like priceritephoto was going to honor their package quote.

the upshot is I still am out one adapter, I've got an ebay purchaser that thinks I'm a flake, and I've now filed a complaint with eliot spitzer's consumer division, the NYC department of consumer affairs, the better business bureau, and now a small claim in los angeles county. all I've ever wanted was the gear I paid for and they quoted me. occasionally, someone new will call and ask what would make this all go away, and I've told them: "just send me what I've paid for."

(A Ridiculous Aside: at one point, when speaking with Nilda, she said she would send out everything still owed if I posted positive feedback on cnet and other ratings sites. I believed her and did so. in fact, wrote glowing reviews when my experience wasn't glowing but I thought it was a fair exchange to get my gear. if you find yourself in a similar situation, don't write your pearls until you get your stuff. I made them sound reputable and in my humble estimation they're not. I've been buying stuff over the internet for nearly a decade and never had a problem. until priceritephoto.)

I'm happy to talk with anyone about this and to find out if others have had similar experiences. at this point, I'm working for the guy who bought the camera from me. I can be reached at kr@kenroth.com

recon007-

I don't know if I would consider that price awesome. I doubt that price includes the rebate. If you get that cam from evsonline or B&H, you'll get the $500.00 rebate, the "extras" and will be taking NO chances.

That's just my opinion. For what it's worth.
