Anyone playing SW Republic Commando yet?

I played it but thought it was pretty lame, imo of course, as did my friend though. We played it on Xbox. The missions are very one track, do this and you can't 'get off the beaten course' type of mentality (I had just come off of playing SW Battlefront, so that's what I compare it too). The multiplayer was sub par at best, very choppy (compared to a long play of mine Halo 1 & 2).

Rent it.

Thanks... this will go a long way with my credibility to my kids!!

They want me to buy them an XBox just so we can get this game. -- well, actually I'm told I won't have to worry about buying it because it's on their Christmas list and Santa's gonna bring it anyway!

I played it a while ago. I really liked it. Once you start to utilize the squad based play the game clicks. What Zack said, it is very linear. Be sure to watch your ammo ;)

How old are your kids?

When I had xbox I really enjoyed Crimson Skies and Star Wars Battlefront I & II, I think those games are like $20 now. They aren't super violent (its no halo or GTA) but are just fun. Fusion Frenzy was always fun with a lot of friends, you could probably find that for under $10 used and my wife and I enjoyed Dance Dance Revolution Ultra Mix (I think that's 2), a good way to get some kids - or adults - exercise.

8 and 6 (plus a 1 year old).

I let them play Battlefront I and II but not call of duty or anything quite like that. Commando looked a little 'splatty' but I'm ok with alien guts.

But again... not wanting to buy a refurb'd Xbox for $100 while I've got a crud load of PS2 games...

Plus -- I'm looking at an iMac Intel that will play most of those PC games and a Wii... well, maybe the Wii.
