Anyone know how to get FCP to Sony PSP video format

Hello everyone,

Having seen the very nice video display on the sony psp, I wanted to put some of
my shorts (on FCP - mac) on it to have with me for display to others.
Problem is that I have not figured out how? Anybody out there that been able to
do this?

Thanks.

If you can get access to a PC here's a program to help you out: http://www.pspvideo9.com/

It uses H.264/MPEG-4 compression, so i'm assuming if you resize to it's resolution (480 x 272), and use the correct codec, you'd be all set.

Well, I tried pspware, which didn't do the job. As for PC, well I'm using FCP so I want be
able to use a MAC. I'm trying to see if there is an output setting from FCP to PSP. If that is
not the case, I been trying to use ffmpegX which seem to produce psp video (tried with other mpeg that I have from web) but I can't seem to output the right stuff from FCP to feed into ffmpegx. Anyome else have suggestions?

Just read your new post :)

I think the problem may be that you need to have the correct mencoder and mplayer binarys installed or it cant read the quicktimes. Sometimes it doesnt like DV codec files either. Try Animation...

Thanks Sam.

It looks like that did IT. I tried Animation and that seems work. using ffmpegX. got that from

http://homepage.mac.com/major4/psp.html

From there you have to down load some other file that you have point to. It has a preset for PSP coding.

the only thing is everytime I bring up ffmpegX it asks for the location of the mpeg2enc which was set before. thanks for eveyone's help
