Anyone interested in Sound Design?

Hi all. There are many great sub-forums here, but nothing for actually audio work. Everything from implimenting music (things like when to use major chords vs minor chords to establish mood) to the fun of sound effect design through the blending and major tweaking of base sounds.

As someone new to this board and someone involved till now primarily in the post part of video, I thikn being able to talk tips and tricks for using audio would be a great help. George Lucas said that audio is 50% of the cinema experience ( I tend to disagree, I think it is at least 75% ), and is one of the most crucial aspects of bringing a continuity and cohesion to any project.

That said, I just thought I would get a feel to others thoughts on the matter. I love doing post sound work.

Sure there is, post in the audio section. There are a number of us who are into this.

Agreed, but if George Lucas likes it, then I'm making silent films from now on. Just kidding. :)

The audio forum is the proper place. I'd love to jump in on any posts regarding this. John Hudson (you might have heard of him :)) has posted several positive things related to Sound Design.

Thanks all. From what I had read and seen so far, I thought it was a tech forum, mics and levels and such. That was, until 11:00 this morning when somsone posted a design question! Doh!

I love Sound Design and totaly support the notion that is half of the equation. This is one thing I wish these 'short' had more of.
