So anyone in HK? I have a shoot coming up in mid-November; 5 days of interviews for a web broadcast...
I have priced out brining my stripped down lighting kit (which I usually fly with), renting a lighting kit there, and buying a (Chinese knock off) Red Head kit from eBay that would be shipped to my hotel a few days in advance of my arrival.
Bringing my kit / renting while there are both more expensive than buying in China. Yes I know that there is different Voltage (I've shot all over the world so I know about strange plugs 110/115/120/220/230/240V and 50~60Hz, and I've been to Hong Kong 8-9 times in the last 5 years) so that is not a problem.
Also I am aware of what could be the shady quality of these lights; out of a kit of three I will only need one to work.
My problem is this - The HK eBay sellers will not ship within HK or do a pick-up. Is there someone on the ground that knows of a reputable shop that sells these lights? I don't want to buy in Kowloon or Tsim Tsa Tsui.
2,100 HKD is about what I want to pay.
Bueler... anyone?
