Anyone got the Zacuto.com base plate?

Looks like this is a good item to get, also very modular. Who's got one here and can you let us know what you think about it. I'm also considering the mini mount but the double mount seems more future-proof, if the rails are too long I can always cut them down... Let me know your feedback about the zacuto baseplate! - Thanks! -pete

It's pretty good. I don't own one but have configured a camera (DVX) for it. If you own your own unit and are only putting the same camera on it then it's all right. I found the setup time and adjustments a pain to get just right to line up with a mattebox, etc. Also I found the rods are really tight to get into their appropriate slots.

That said it's well built and the option for the back accessory configuration works well to balance what's normally a front heavy load.

I have this one and it is SWEET. Allows full x/y/z movement of the camera, lets you put support behind the camera. Real strong and well built. Looks cool ferrari red. Relative to Cine support gear, you can get this rig at a steal. It holds a marshall monitor on a real strong israeli arm that lets you take your monitor with you, handheld. Throw a Redrock on your camera, and you're gonna need the back rods for weight distribution. Oh, did I mention it powers the marshal with a vlink battery in the baseplate? So far so good on this end...

I have it and it works great. Love it. Only issue is the top of the plate is slick, no rubber feet so the camera would slip a bit. I threw a bit of gaff tape on it and remounted the camera, no more slipage. Very well built and a honest company....
