Hello. I am in the process of evaluating if I should use premiere long term and wanted to ask if this is something others are experiencing. I can crash my machine every time if I go to the window menu and click on "Capture". Premiere bombs my New (westmere based) Mac any time I do this although it takes two forms. In the minority of cases it turns the screen black, the fan races for about five seconds before it goes back to normal speed and I have to a hard re-boot. Mostly however the screen stays up but everything freezes except the mouse which can be moved around although clicking on anything anywhere is ineffective and the keyboard is completely dead.
Can anyone else duplicate this or am I simply extra luck?
I'm up to date on all my software and premiere will do this even if it is the only software running. Strange bug!
In most ways Premiere is quite nice though I wish more of the keyboard shortcuts that I'm familiar with worked the same way as in FCP. I also wish I could when wanted use premiere to transcode into ProRez. The compatibility would be nice.
But like I said, for the most part my impressions are quite nice except for a few small glitches and this one big crash problem.
