Anyone ever use this backpack?

I don't know much about it - this is the first I've heard. It sells thru Bogen dealers in the U.S. according to their web site. Looks like a great backpack. I am tempted to buy one myself. I am thinking of hiking across the country with my backpack and DVC80 and wondered how I was going to carry it all along with my clothes. This would answer that question. It appears to be light enough that I could carry both packs on either shoulder with no problems.

I'm using their photo camera bag, which looks very similar. It's very well built, sturdy, and seems very protective of the contents. It's also hyper-functional, with lots of compartments etc. etc.

I have the Kata R-102 backbag which i like alot. The only grip is that i have is i that i have to take out e external mic as the bag wouldn't close with the mic attached. Not sure if the BP502 is deep enough. One thing about backbag as compare to normal shoulder sling bag is that it doesn't look like a camerabag!. On occasion i turn up for a shoot, pple will ask me where is my camera!

I have a BP502 backpack. I use it for a PD170. I can carry my camera with external mike attached (audio technica 897), the top flap shuts over the mic with no problems. The space for the camera inside runs vertically/centrally leaving enough space to fit my a wideangle lense (padded of course). The compartments around the main camera compartment house my power adapter, 5m xlr cable, extra mic, extra battery, battery charger, bag waterproofing (comes with the bag). When all of this is velcroed shut there is enough space between the base of the pack and where the ext.mike protrudes to store a pair of jeans, socks, t-shirt and underwear. There are zipped internal flaps for maps and papers. I also carry my laptop in the compartment directly behind my back. I am not a Kata rep, but this bag is serious. When i first saw it i thought it was too big, i wanted something less conpicuous but it sits so well on my back, it doesn't look like a camera bag and it's protecting my stuff. One of you guys said maybe carrying one on each shoulder but i would suggest this bag is a little to big for that. I should also comment that it's to big for flight carry-on purposes and if anyone has any suggestions regarding carrying-on a pd170 i would welcome them! i hope this helps, if you need any more information just let me know.

Is the BP502 bigger than the HB207? I remember readng on the forum that the HB207 was able to be a flight carryon.

I recently purchased two of these BP-502 back packs for my DVX and HVX systems, and they seem to work very well. They easily store the cameras, on rails, follow focus, and I have plenty of room for stuff like external mics, extra studio ball head, and all other requisite accessories. As an adventure filmmaker, I take them everywhere - backcountry skiing, climbing, etc. So far, they have performed every bit as well as my Lowepro Photo Trekker has with my still gear.

The price-to-quality ratio is excellent, and the pack comes with a rugged fold-out dollys, rain fly, and adjustable tripod mount. They have turned out to be the perfect workhorse packs for these camera systems.
