anyone ever use a boom lift?

Looking for a woman
is it stable enough for a shoot? home depot rents out a 35 foot lift which would be cool for overhead shots.

Is it a bucket on a boom or a fixed platform. I used to to de-ice airplanes from buckets and while they do swing freely (to a point, there are stops) you can balance and stay pretty still if there isnt alot of wind. Seems like you could put all your weight on one side and rest it on one of the stops though and it stayed pretty solid. Its been a few years though, and my memory isnt the greatest...

i didn't look at it that closely, but i think it was similar to this...

I have seen them in action (on construction sites, not filming) and they look to be too shaky for a nice crane shot, but stationary shots should be ok.

We use these for both lighting mounts and camera positioning. They're commonly called "condors" when used as a lighting platform for larger fixtures.

Effectively, a condor clamp is a pipe clamp that captures the cage of the snorkle-lift in two or more places with an opening or series of receptacles for fixtures.

As a camera platform, it's okay for what it is. You'll likely see any movement from the wind or your operator translate into pretty gross motion in-camera.
