Anyone else do this?

I'm sitting on my couch, having a snack and taking a break from a rather tedious editing job. I pop on the TV to AMC and Bullit is on, pretty close to the beginning. Now I love McQueen, and Bullit is one of my favorite cop movies. In fact, it's sitting on the shelf, right above the TV, on a widescreen DVD. But I sit there and watch it, with commercials, in the hated pan and scan format, on TV. Why?

I do the same thing with songs. A song comes on in the car from a CD that I own, but never put on. My wife goes to change the station, and I'm like "Hey! Whaddya doin'? That's Menudo!"

I would never watch a movie on standard TV, with commercials, that I own on DVD.

Actually, I don't think I've watched a movie on standard TV, with commercials, since I bought a DVD player. That goes back to '99.

And I would never listen to Menudo... but sometimes it is easier to pick up a remote, than it is to walk over to the shelf, find the DVD, put it in, fire it up, and fight the 15 minutes of promos, and studio crap. I usually only half pay attention to the movie anyways, as I'm checking mail, editing, killing Commies, getting some lo... never mind :)

They always say Jack Nicholson is always the coolest guy in the room. That's only because Steve isn't around any more.
