Anyone authoring Blu-ray yet?

I know CS3 is supposed to be able to create and burn to Blu-ray.

I have a client requesting blu-ray and would like to know that this feature is working correctly before I accept the task. I haven't purchased a burner yet and would also like to know which models are reliable for this task with Premier.

I am also sending this to the UK from the states. Do the PAL issues still apply?

I shot a 17-minute short on HVX:

I edited the DVCPRO-HD in Premiere, and authored a Blu-Ray disc in Encore.

(I sell DVDs of the movie through CreateSpace -- they don't handle Blu-Ray yet. So far the Blu-Ray has been mostly for my own viewing, although we did hold a premiere event at a local theater and projected in HD from a Blu-Ray source.)

The BD-R I burned in Encore worked in most players I tried.

Durning editing, I was saving Blu-Ray folder sets every couple of days. (In the Encore build window, this option appears as "Output Blu-Ray Folder" ) I would burn the folder to a DVD-R. Most players won't recognize this BD-on-DVD by my Samsung BDP-1200 recognizes it fine. So I was able to preview these quasi Blu-Ray discs very regularly without spending a fortune on BD-R discs.

As I said though, I don't think this Blu-Ray on DVD is normally supported by players.

So, to summarize -- BD from Encore seems to work pretty well. I have no idea about the PAL side of things, unfortunately. It probably would not support 29.97 NTSC encoded video. But if you encode as 24p it might work.
