Anybody using the new Firefox 3.x

[Capt Quirk]

I just upgraded Firefox, and don't like the way it shows half the stuff from my Bookmarks in the address bar. I use the address bar to type in the most common things, like Hotmail, and this way I don't have to wade through 100 bookmarks. Is there a way to turn that off?

[Capt Quirk]

Correction, it shows a bunch of stuff from my book marks as well as my history. None of which should be in the address field.

You mean you want to use the drop-down to find old things you typed in? Yeah, that's an annoying change.

[Capt Quirk]

Yeah, sort of... it used to be I would type in the few things I use like several times an hour, and go to the book marks for everything else other than google searches. As it is now, it shows all sorts of crap, like the online manual for my generator I went to once a month back. I tried clearing history and what-not, but the address bar still shows it all.

There's an extension you can get (I think it's called Old Bar) that will get rid of that feature if you don't like it.

[MiniMan13]

Its called the Awesome bar, and heres how to disable it

Thanks to both of you! While MiniMan's tip helped a bit, it was Horse's tip that did what I hoped for. Awesome bar my a$$!
