Anybody tried the new Adobe Audition CS5.5?

I have Soundbooth CS3, but never really warmed up to it, so I've been using Audacity for what little audio editing I've done so far. This afternoon I got an upgrade offer from Adobe. $99.- to upgrade to Audition.

So, is anybody using Audition CS5.5 yet? And if so, what do you think about it? Is it worth the upgrade price?

Been using it for 2 weeks. $99 for an upgrade from Soundbooth would be well worth it as Soundbooth kinda sucks.

Southbooth feels as if it were its mandate to change the date times of all WAV files it touches - and it won't inform you when it's doing that, even if you don't want to save any changes... --> end of trial, after I had to clean up the mess it created (some of the damage was permanent though).

I tried Audition 5.5 too as I heard numerous people have used and liked its earlier versions and in particular its predecessor. But the way it draws stereo wave forms like a mono track, as well as a few other things, were very confusing to me... end of trial. I think Sound Forge is still better.

Check out this must-read Forum thread on Adobe Audition CS5.5 from a development team member. If you have been using Audition 3, then you will get an invaluable insight into the transition path to CS5.5 and if this may fit your application. Spoiler alert: Audition CS5.5 was rewritten from ground up and misses many legacy features while significantly enhancing others. No comparison to SoundBooth, R.I.P.
