Anybody HELP?

Well, for the past several years i've been running on Adobe Premiere 6.0, and with my DVX its really starting to bother me. I recently got PPRO 1.5 and attempted to switch over to the new NLE. After installation finished (flawlessly by the way) I proceeded to open the program......and then all of a sudden, AN ERROR MESSAGE!

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what I remember, it was telling me something about my system BIOS being outdated ( I have since been forced back to AP 6.0) When I told a computer tech friend of mine of the error, he told me it would be like "brain surgery for my computer" to update the BIOS.

THEN...A few days later I was talking to a great friend of mine who told me he had recently updated his BIOS personally, and it wasnt that big of a deal.

Can anyone please help me with this problem, what should I do? All I want is to be able to run this damn NLE, IM SO SICK OF AP 6.0!!!!!!!! Please....

Updating the bios is usually not very difficult. But it is different for each motherboard. Check out your mobo's web site, there should be information there.

I would try installing PPro again. I'm not sure why you would need to update your bios for it to work properly. It might be an issue with Windows.

On a side note...I had a lot of problems with 1.5. There was a bug that prevented me from editing 24p footage in a 29.97 timeline. This issue has been resolved in 2.0.

eep, you have been editing on premiere 6.0 for this long? *cringes at the thought of using 6.0* jeez i hated 6.0 soo much, the newer versions of premiere pro 1.5 and above are soo much better.

How old is your computer and what are the specs? I also think updating your bios is relatively easy. It also depends what bios you have and how good their customer support is. do what Sacksnack said, check out your motherboard's website. there should be information about the bios updates and what not on there. Remember to search for your motherboard model # .
