Supposedly this is a new and improved model. It's relatively new and haven't been able to find what I think is an unbiased review of it. Of course there are a few videos on youtube but they all seem like they were made by whoever makes the product. Looking for an honest opinion on this or maybe some real test footage. It looks like a great deal. I'm looking for a decent camera stabilizer for my 7D thats under $150/200. This one is in my top possibilities.

Way too much counterweight on that thing.
They're trying to stabilize through the brute weight alone. It seems to have about three times the counterweight nessecary.
I'd pass.

We'll see. I have one ordered. Due to my situation, I won't be able to test it out for a few weeks. I'll try it with the t2i. It looks like it was designed to support heavier cameras so I may have to add some weight to the top.

I have it in my possession now. Took me an hour and a half to try and get it center when sitting on the tripod stand to balance it. I'm using a Canon 7d and 28mm 1.8 lens. I have calculated the camera weight with the lens and compact flash and battery. So far I do not like what I see at all. I'm not sure if I have it set up wrong. Even with my thumb on the little joint, it still wobbles and is hard control and keep the camera from rotating and swiveling different directions. When sitting on the tripod stand for balancing, it continually wants to spin to the right. Anyone else having problems?

Search videos on how to set up a Steadicam Merlin, most of those videos are very good in getting you to understand how a hand held rig is supposed to balance out, just getting it to not tilit on the stand is only a small factor in propper setup. there is also dynamic balance and drop time that become factors in propper balance.

I found a lot of information on the subject when researching the Merlin and that information applies to any stabilizer regardless of brand or cost.

The subject can be a little bewildering but its not too hard.

Good luck
