Any Thoughts?

Hello to everybody. I'm going to be starting production on a doc soon, and would like some thoughts on my intended audio set up. I need a way to capture and control the audio, without being tethered to the camera. I was thinking about running a ME66/K6 to the Azden FMX-20 mixer, and then running the mixer to a wireless Sennheiser SK100G2 transmitter. The camera operator will wear the Sennheiser receiver, which, of course, will be routed to the camera.

The consensus seems to be that the Sennheiser G2 series wireless systems are pretty good, but I haven't seen too much on the FMX-20 mixer. I've only seen one DVXuser poster comment on it (and the poster's experience with it was/is positive). I know it's not the best choice, but my budget doesn't call for much more, and I don't need anything too fancy. Besides, I do need someway to control the audio, so the cam operator doesn't have to worry about that too. I've operated on too many docs where I get stuck watching the levels (or where the sound person is glued to me, and playing with the audio levels on the cam, while I'm trying to steady the shot).

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Jay
