I was wondering if anyone has used the Nebtek version of Panasonic's 7" monitor (that uses the Panasonic batteries) and if so is it a good buy? Thanks so much!
Never looked at them before but the resolution seems low 234 X 480 for that kind of money. Jarred got a monitor with 1440 X 480 (?) or so resolution to play with but no review as of yet.
I have the 7" Panasonic Monitor and tried to find a solution to run if off of a standard DVX battery.
What you need to do is to raise the battery voltage from the 7,2 V to something in the range between
12 and 16 V.
To do this you need a 10W DC/DC converter with an input voltage between 4,5 and 9 V and 12 V output,
a small Printed Circuit Board, a PCB-mounted RCA and BNC socket, the top half of a used/spare Panasonic
battery charger, a bit of wire and about 1 h of your time.
The result is something very similar to the Nebtek mod and costs less than 75 bucks (most expensive is the
DC/DC converter at about 40 USD).
