I use the Adobe Suite and would like your input on which card/box to buy that will help with:
1. Real Time Editing (I use third party plugins like Boris FX)
2. Live Streaming/Webcasting
3. A portable unit that can be used with a desktop and a laptop.
Using any kind of external hardware will actually slow down your realtime abilities, since you will need to render the entire image and then convert it to the cards format before displaying it on the external monitor.
The internal display cheats by only rendering the pixels that you can see. Since it's usually about 1/4 or 1/2 the resolution of the original image less pixels get the effect applied to it, so it appears to run faster.
I know from expierence blackmagic multibridge supports streaming over FLME. You'll want to CONTACT every card vendor to ask them what their support of FMLE is since my card didn't support anything other than 480i for a long time.
