Any stand-alone capture program for M2T ?

Hi,

I have sony vegas officially on my workstation, but its huge, dual display, lots of attachments etc. So it isnt exactly portable.
But i would like to have a seperate stand alone machine to capture HDV immediately after our live events. This would save me a hell of a lot of trouble since i dont have to hire the camera again the next day just to capture the video. We anyway have a capable system which is actually on the field during our shoots. I would like to capture the video immediately after a live event onto this system. Can fellow-members here improvise on my simple options.

1. To have only the module of SONY VEGAS capture engine loaded on that system. Is this even possible ? Im assuming SONY wouldnt mind since in effect im only splitting the capture element onto another system and not installing the entire sony vegas onto a second machine.

2. Or is there any light program that can capture the m2t stream in its untarnished form ? Preferably a free / cheap program to do just this one task.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ?

Hi Cheno, I already downloaded that program before i even posted this. But i dont have the HDV camera now to try it out wth. Have u used this prog before ?

About installin the whole of Vegas i was hesitant just from a legal point of view. Vegas is authorized only for single computer use right ? Also i cannot afford to buy a additional licence from vegas just to capture hdv. :) If thats what you meant.

I've not used HDV Split myself. Vegas internal capture aps have worked fine.

You can legally install Vegas on a billion machines but can only have one license going at any time. I've got it on 3 machines here in my studio. Only use one at a time.

You'll be fine if both of your 'puters aren't running it at the same time.

Oh if thats truely in their licence agreement then i think ill just instal vegas onto the other machine.

Just on a side note, do they also allow installing on multiple machines for network rendering ?
