Are there any San Jose Film Festival fans? I am looking forward to checking out Delivery Method. If anyone has any other films to recommend from the SJ film festival, let me know!
The San Jose Film festival is hosted by Cinequest. They show GREAT independent films. The next festival will be March 2-13 2005. It's a while from now but it gives filmmakers time to submit their films.
"Cinequest is Northern California's premier motion picture institute that produces: Cinequest Film Festival, a soul-stirring and personable discovery festival of international films and digital media forums for movie lovers, Maverick film artists and film students; Cinequest Online, the Internet's premiere marketing and distribution site for films; Cinequest Digital Studio; Youthquest; and Cinequest Screenwriting Competition.
Named one of the Top 10 Film Festivals in the world by the Ultimate Film Festival Survival Guide, Cinequest joined Cannes, Toronto, Telluride and Sundance with this honor. "
Ya know whats funny? I'm editing a movie for that festival. HAHA. I completely forgot until I saw the name Cinequest. They will be using my DVX to film it. Woo!
This year's was a blast. There were two different Coppola's in attendance (Christopher, Nick Cage's bro, and Bruno, a cousin), each with their own films; Neil Young was there, showing off his film Greendale (quite horrid, btw); on the last night, Ray Manzarek, formerly of The Doors, presented two of his experimental films from the 60's when he was a UCLA film student (one featured a barely recognizable Jim Morrison, pre-Doors) -- both were pretty darn good -- and afterwards Ray whipped out his electric keyboard and, with the help of a local sitar player, performed an improvisational version of The End.
There are several tiny ones. You know, nice for ppl to show what they've worked on, but ppl dont come here to show, no celeb apearances, that kinda stuff. More of just a party for the community, not exactly for "exposure"
