Any Programmers?

[Kirk Gillock]

Just curious if there's any programmers in the house? I have an Internet project that requires some Perl, PHP, or some other language, based on your recommendations. I wouldn't be able to pay anything, but it would be for a very good cause and you would get credit as the creator of the site's backend.

Please PM me if you're interested and I will provide you with specifics. Thank you,
PK

[pookie_old]

I'd like to help you out PK, but the last thing I programmed was a cult, and things went a little funny.

[Shaw]

I've done some c++ programming in the past - doesn't sound like that's quite what you need though.

[Frizzle Fry]

Hey PK, I know PHP. What's your project?

[Kirk Gillock]

Thanks Shaw and Frizzle Fry. It's basically creating a web crawler and search engine. There are plenty of free scripts flating around but nothing robust enough or customizable.

[surf]

I am good at Turbo pascal and Flash actionscript

[David G. Smith]

I programmed my VCR to record a Twilight Zone marathon off the Sci-Fi channel and ended up with 6 hours of the Home Shopping Network. Can I help?

[Kirk Gillock]

Is the VCR still blinking 12:00 ? If not then you're hired!

[David G. Smith]

It is not blinking 12:00,however, I think it is about 8 hours off...

[HansK]

t's basically creating a web crawler and search engine.

Uh oh, PK wants to be the next Googe and rule the world! :cheesy:

Hey, take advantage of your enemy's... er, competitor's engine and find the code:

PHP:
http://www.google.com/search?q=php+...ient=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official

Perl:
http://www.google.com/search?hs=1ME...fficial&q=perl+spider+source+code&btnG=Search

[antomic]

Just get TiVo...then set a Season Pass for your search engine. It's all automatic.

(need that damned "wink" icon again!)
