Any opinions on brevis??

well i just figured there would be no negetive feedback on the site because that doesnt really sell the product does it? i need negative and positive

stillvague, you did kinda ask in a brash tone so it was only inevitable that you would get that kind of response. But sorry if I provoked it. I did mean to give you a detailed post on my experience yesterday but the power went out and i just didn't feel like rewriting it.

it has flaws like any other adapter. its not perfect. ask some of the pros that have used it and you will hear allllll about the shortcomings of the system.

Just like any system there are tradeoffs.

We've had the Brevis for a few months now, and it's fantastic. And yeah, every adapter has it's quirks and cons. But for the price, you can't beat it. Although, the adapter did cut out on us the other night. Something shorted out. The DP had to re-wire the terminals to new batteries, because the original adapter batteries weren't carrying a charge.

the proprietary battery is one of its design "flaws". it really needs the ghetto external AA batteries.

I'm a big fan of the Brevis for it's size, weight, ease of use, and image quality. What I would change is to find a way to do faster shutter speeds as you have to do some funky calibrating to get it to go above 1/60 without having some strange distortions. It works but like I said it takes some playing around.

Other than that I love it to pieces.

Thanks for posting that Zak. With the external power pod and two AA batteries, runtime would be extended to about 48 hours. We'll be adding another option shortly that would increase standalone runtime nearly indefinitely :-)

The Brevis has been great for me. The pluses outweigh the negatives, IMHO.

Some highlights:

- it's upgradeable

- low light loss

- interchangeable diffusers (kind of like changing film stock)

- form factor (looks like it's actually part of the camera)

- great customer support from Dennis

- oh, and I get some nice images out of it. :)
