Any opinion on this lavalier?

For lav mics, the Aspen and the JK are both pretty sensitive at -44dB. (The Rode one is -33.5dB!)

In my case, if I were using these with the Zoom H1, I could have the levels around 50-60 and that would of course produce less hiss. When I used the OST 802 - which is definitely a superior microphone but less sensitive - I had to bump them up to 70-80, which produced more hiss than I wanted.

For sure...I think the sensitivity is more important than anything else (if you're using those recorders) because most people will never notice the difference in audio quality between these mics in this case, but will immediately pick up on hiss/static.

Yes the TL40 seems nice but there is not store or prices!

You email them for a current price list, then buy from them directly. I did this myself just last month.

My recommendation for you (if you can't afford wireless, at a minimum Sennheiser G3, or the newer and better Sony UWP-D11 at the same price) is to get the Tascam DR10L.

As that works out to about the same price as a Zoom H1 (once you factor in the lav mic cost, and if you get it on sale), but the Tascam DR10L is MASSIVELY better for this than the Zoom H1. As the Tascam is purpose built as a bodypack recorder. (and is slimmer and lighter than the Zoom F1, which is also important in a bodypack recorder)

Iron Film, I'm liking more the Zoom F1 not the H1n , the Zoom F1 is the body pack, some how looks with better build than the Tascam DR10L, isn't that your perception?

Psc millimic, 119, m150 , m152 are all very useable lavs that are all often overlooked. All can still frequently be found used in 50$ range.

The Mickey mic isn't talked about a lot but is worthy of consideration. In the ost price range maybe slightly higher.

Yeah, the 'Mickey mic' is allegedly decent sounding and very small (about the size of a B6). Don't really know about the build and cable quality though. I was going to pick up one or two to try out a few years ago but totally forgot about them.

My perception is the F1 is bigger and heavier than the DR10L, which are exactly the things you do not want in a bodypack recorder.

You are right, It also has dual recording The zoom doesn't,
don't you think those metal parts add some strength to the zoom?
At the end is not totally metallic, so the plastic might brake on a fall!

Yes, that is another benefit of the DR10L, but perhaps in a firmware update the F1 will bring the safety track feature. Worth keeping an eye on.

I have a DR10L arriving in a few more days hopefully, so can see it first hand, but I doubt I have anything to worry about construction quality.
