Any old-timers out there familiar with Fujinon B4 zooms?

Or any young-timers?

What is the real-world difference between the Fujinon HA13 x 4.5 and the Fujinon HA14x4.5? Beyond the minimal additional zoom range, that is.

M-48 designated zooms and M6 / M6B , M58B designated zooms- what is the difference? Do some cameras only accept a certain type of lens ( M48, M6, M58, etc. )?

How about the real-world differences between the Fujinon HA22X7.6 and the Fujionon HA22x7.3? It seems odd that Fujinon would develop zooms that only differ in focal range by a small bit. So there must be some other differences between the lenses.

The Fujinon XA zoom lens line- where does that line fall in the Fuji lineup? Are they comparable to the ZA line or more like the HA line? Is HA still the top, or "premiere" Fuji line of B4 zooms?

I would check the number of elements and groups, IF vs. extending barrel, light ramping, focus breathing. I think there is also image size, I seem to recall that 2/3 and 1/2 inch could both be B4 mounts. I can't remember the differences between the different letter lines, but new (historic) pricing may help determine low, medium, or top line lenses. Difference might be along the lines of $2000 for green stripe SD lens vs. $25000 for green stripe HD lens in 16:9

Also you can kind of tell 2/3 from 1/2 inch by the widest setting. 6mm in 2/3 is really wide, 4.5 in half inch is fairly wide and fairly common.

The HA14x4.5 is the newer version of the HA 13x4.5. The 14 also has a 2.2x extender instead of the traditional 2x. It should also have the newer grip and servos. It looks like the grip on the Cabrio's. The M48 is older than the M58. With the 58 versions they talk to Panasonic and Sony cameras for CA correction. Two of my Fuji's are M58's(my 22x and 13x) and my P2 Vari's recognize them and do in-camera CA correction. My original 13x is an M48 and it does not.

The 22x7.3 is a BEAST. I used it a few times when it was new and it's an absolute monster. The front element/focus barrel is cartoonish. I think it was aimed as more of an EFP lens than ENG. I think breathing was supposed to be very minimal on it, but it's been a long time since I've used one of those and don't won't to say absolutely. The HA22x7.8 or newer HA23x7.6 would be what you really want, unless it's a great price on the 7.3.

And yes, the HA series are the Premiere line.
