Anyone running a system which is basically a server mother board with dual xeon processors or dual core xeon processors ? Would there be better performance by using a fullblown server setup ?
Any of you running vegas machines on a server platform ? Intel Xeon ?

My last machine was basically an Intel Server running dual Xeon 3.0's - worked very well and never crashed on me - a bit slow for HDV though (I built in '05) but still plugs away really well for SD / Grahpics stuff - I ended up buying a MacPro so I could run both Mac / PC OSs
I'm not a computer guru by any means but don't believe a straight server route is any faster than traditional proc / mobo computers - here and on the Sony forums you'll find oodles of system specs that all run Vegas really well

You mean it was a dual xeon (2 seperate processors) @3 Gigahrtz and it would choke on HDV ?? My current machine is only Pentium D Dualcore 3.4 Ghz and it handles HDV really well.
