Any of you ever put together a podcast system?

[Rippie]

I get to ask you guys a question. I like it!

A client of mine contacted me about him wanting to put together a podcast system for a pro bono client of his.
Not being in the podcast world myself at all, I know the way I would personally do it would be complete and total over kill.

Curious if there are any great, affordable, easy to use options out there these days that are designed for this kind of thing.

I think he is looking to be able to record a few people in a room, being able to record skype calls, typical podcast things I guess.
Barely knowing the situation I have a feeling a novice will end up running it.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

I will send you an email and introduce you to the folks at Basic Brewing. He started his podcast a bunch of years ago.

There are a number of parts to a podcast, it's not just recording the show. You have to package it in a particular way so that aggregators can deal with it. Though an audio podcast has less bells and whistles than a video podcast.

There kits of sorts that have software that can package the stream and have some basic tools like a USB microphone.

Thanks Scott. I just emailed him and I'll be interested to hear what he says.
I don't think I'm going to be personally involved with any of this but want to try to help out my
client. We'll see what happens. Thanks man.
