Any issues editing GH2 footage with FCP X?

I’m new to the forum and in need of some advice. I'm considering using the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH2 to shoot a web series, web videos, short films, interviews and documentaries. Some videos will be shot using green screen.

Are there any issues editing GH2 footage with FCP X?

What is the best workflow process for importing GH2 footage into FCP X?

What are the differences in editing footage when using a non-hacked and hacked GH2?

I appreciate any feedback and advice.

Thanks!

Hi Dustylense,

Thanks for responding to my post.

I haven't used FCP X but intend to in the future.

What is the process for importing GH2 footage into FCP X?

Does one need to do any special preparation to the GH2 files for FCP X post work?

Thanks!

Use Import From Camera, and be sure to use a card reader, don't try to import from the card inside the camera.

Hi Ben,

Thanks!

What type of card reader do you suggest using?

What happens when trying to import the footage from the camera?

Will the iMac's built-in card reader also work?

An HD folder on the card or hard drive?

If the folder is located on the hard drive is there a special process to tranfer the footage to the HD?

As long as you copy the entire contents of the original media card to a folder- the ingest process is pretty much the same. Open Archive to point to it.
