you could try SaferSeas/Video Supply Depot in San Rafael. www.saferseas.com

Check in with FilmArts, not for purchase but to rent equipment or to take classes. They're a film/video group. They now have a DVX100 along with editing equipment, audio and other production gear.

As mentioned SaferSeas in San Rafael has probably the largest collection.

Adolph Gasser, Inc. has video equipment and related items.
http://www.jcxex.com/ has tape, camera supplies, grip stuff, etc.

I've never used them but there's:

Adolph Gassers is way over priced, the clerks all have serious attitudes and they usually have to special order because thay are out of stock. This has been my experience anyway. You're much better of sticking with online and going through EVS. However, I have not yet tried SaferSeas.

There's Musson in Santa Clara, and San Jose Camera in San Jose. Although San Jose Camera kinda sucks, but I got a good deal on my Hoya UV filter there. They've got lots of stepping rings and stuff too. They also have tons of Cokin filters, if you want a cheap way to experiment with filters.

I usually stick with EVS of B&H, unless it's the day of a shoot and I really need something.

Keeble and Shuchat

Palo Alto, CA 650-327-8996

ask for Tony. I think he is the only one who knows video there. Video is pretty limited, even so, their prices are not bad. Good video for mom and pop. limiting for pro- type purposes. It is primarily a photographers place. As there can be some cross-over, I do find it handy. If a pro photographer would need it, they have it.
