Hey guys, I'm really trying to search around for some good, down-to-earth DSLR filmmaking blogs, but everywhere I turn, it seems the blogs tend to have left the tips and tricks far behind in the dust, and just have turned to more of a record of the projects the owner is doing and thousands of pictures of various sets and camera set ups. While I'm pretty beyond the basic education, already beyond guidelines like The Cinematographer Guide, I'm still struggling to learn any useful tricks that come in handy when dealing with the flaws of DSLR's, and just any blog that keeps dedicated to discussing things like great picture styles for skin tones, insider tricks on how to white balance properly, the pros and cons of moire filters, any cool updates for inexpensive but important equipment, exposure tricks, essential lighting voodoo, or just any of the often ignored but prime aspects of filmmaking that so many people seem to have questions about.
To be honest, I still enjoy Philip Bloom's blog because there's really just a great ratio of different topics, but I've pretty much scoured the blog left to right and I guess I'm looking for a blog that truly is just as down-to-home and dedicated to filmmaking techniques and tricks that one simply can't live without with DSLR/Low Budget filmmaking. Sounds vague but I'm having the hardest time finding a blog that's really dedicated to what I'm looking for, again, everything I come across tends to be too advanced/too advertisement based, or it's the old stuff like "Aperture means depth of field." Some of the questions I stated above are so hard to find answers to, and these "mid-range" questions seem to be the areas so many folk seem to be lacking in!
