Hey Guys,
I've been browsing through this demo reel site and am so inspired. You should go check it out. www.watchreels.com. I've got a question in regards to the look of this vid http://www.watchreels.com/showreel/default.asp?id=pinkey.

click on the link and go to the infinity add. (third one down) Does anyone know how to achieve this look. Is it all in post, or is this done during production? I've been tweaking in FCP and can't even come close(: Thanks

during production. I mean, there's a lot of post to, but you can't just take something you've shot and start playing with colors and hope to have something like that. Its lighting and production design, and a format with more latitude that miniDV, plus a talented colorist.

Ya that's what I figured. It feels silly asking, but dangit it's been lingering in my mind for too long with no answer(: It would be really interesting to know the work flow of the big guys. Anyone have some links to articles etc...with some good info?

Using custom gradients with the right composite modes and this would be a snap in post. The cleaner and better saturation your original footage is, shouldn't be much of a problem.

I'd strongly recommend the book "Apple Pro Training Series: Advanced Color Correction and Effects in Final Cut Pro 5" for sure.

Thanks so much for giving me a little direction. I've asked this question a couple of times and no one wanted to share): I'll look into that book. Thanks again BenB.
