any filters for this?

editing a private concert for a job i got offered, and it's in a small room with just 5 or 6 folk singers and guitar players, so i set up the mic above their heads to capture audio. only problem is in the background you can hear the thump of their feet to the beat because the room was so small. are there any audio filters in fcp that can limit this heavy bass? theres no bass in the band so i dont have a problem taking out a lot of it anyway. if not, can someone recomend another solution?

You could try the "high pass" filter, but it probably it won't help much. My guess is the low frequencies were recorded too hot and are hence overmodulated on tape.

The affect of this meaning you can reduce the levels but not the distortion.
