Any experience with the Alesis Protrack?

Not sure if this has been discussed or not... But has anyone had any experience with this iPod recording device as a field recorder? It's 16bit with XLR inputs, and for $199, a reasonable addon to my iPod.

I'm wondering how it would compare to any other recording devices in this price range and even a bit higher. Any info greatly appreciated!

I read a bit about its release this summer, but the main reason I won't be getting it is because the only sample rate it records at is 44.1khz.
