Any Experience selling to the School/education market?

Has anyone here done this? With PPR licenses averaging $100 per copy, you wouldn't have to move many for a decent ROI. My wife and I have produced a project on spec for this market but are clueless as to how to go about getting it out there. We partnered with a local high school for actors and locations (full parental consent of course.) so our direct out of pocket is fairly low, but bills are piling up due to time taken.

We initially we had hoped for for foundation/corporate sponsorship to at least cover our time, but we are not non-profit, so no go there.

I've looked at 'Educational Video Distributors' and they appear to be just wholesalers that put your title in their catalog for a cut of sales, no promotion or guarantee of any sales.

How would you go about getting the word out besides a mass spamming of schools/teachers.

I'm just looking for any general info or advice. I've finally produced a demo cut of the project that we'll test locally to get feedback for final tweeking and hope to have ready for distribution for fall 2012.

If you want to know what it is about we have some info/trailers at www.thechristieschoiceproject.com
