So I'm new to dreamweaver. I'm trying to set up a basic online portfolio site. Anyways here is my question. When I preview in IE my banner graphic is there as it is in dreamweaver but in fire fox the banner is no where to be found.

Do you guys have any tips on how to fix this or what is causing it?

thanks
Josh

Getting a website to look right in both IE and Firefox can be a real pain some times. Can you post the code or give us a url to the page so we can take a look?

Thanks.

Took a look and the only things which might be causing the problem are:

1) What is the directory structure like in regards to this html document and where the banner image is? The img src is looking for it inside "/Newwebsite/images/" . Is this html document inside the "Newwebsite" folder? If so then I would remove "/Newwebsite" from the img src link since the image directory is all it needs to know. Ex: "/images/index_01.jpg"

2) If the html file is in the parent folder of Newwebsite then the link should be ok, but make sure the folder name is actually "Newwebsite", with the uppercase "N". The links might be case sensitive. Actually, out of habit, I make all my folders names lowercase just to be sure.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Hey Pk or anyone..

If you have some time and don't mind taking a look. So I completely redid my website with photoshop slicing and what not. Seem to work ok but I'm trying to set up links for buttons and when I open the site up in my browser the links don't work (local site).

I attached my new source code. Its ok if you don't have any time to take a look but I would greatly appreciate it.

By the way you were right about bluehost it rocks!

Josh

Edit: Think i figured it out.

Not sure about your directory stucture, but I'm pretty sure that it should be <img src="../images/index_05.gif" or something along those lines.

<a href="/home.html"> should probably be <a href="home.html">

... without the "/" in front of home. That way it's a relative path and not absolute, which you probably don't want it to be.

thanks tom :) I got it figured out but I don't know how to build a nice dynamic website(mine is very basic at the moment) Soon I will go for a much cleaner yet dynamic style. Guess I will have to invest the time to learn or hire someone.

Hows everything with you are you keeping busy?
