I am working on a flashback clip and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas. Any cool references from film? I watched The Illusionist recently and it used an effect where the screen would black out using a circular frame that engulfed the frame (sorry, my description isn't very good).
I'm toying with the idea of giving the boarder a dark look that gradually fades as it moves inwards into the footage, but not sure how to achieve the effect.
I'm also interested in looking at the 'noise' effect and how it would look, as well as various visual filters and what-not.
Just an open discussion if anyone is interested.
