Any Blender Video Editing Sofware user here?

What's up people,

If any of you is a Blender user can you advise on whether it would be a good software for a complete beginner to start with? If not, what other editing software would you advise me to get my feet wet with? I've had minimal exposure to Final Cut so far. I'm getting my equipment together now and would like to get some opinions on a good software for a novice like me. Your advices would be very much appreciated.

Blender is not editing software. They claim that it has an editor built in, but it lacks most of the functionality that a real editor has.

If you're on a really tight budget, take a look at Lighworks. It's a real editing platform that's been used to cut Oscar winning films, and is now available for free: http://www.lightworksbeta.com/
