Hi,

I've been editing a lo-budget film for the past few weeks. Im stumped by a few things, I've tired searching with little success.

Is there an easy way to 'watermark' you video's? I'm using avid.

I've forgotten to take photos during the shoot, Does any one know of any programs where I can take 'snap shots' of my video?

Thanks

Water marking can be as simple as making a title card in avid (or any NLE) and dropping its opacity to say 40% or something and layering it on top of the footage.

I don't know how avid does extracting stills, but there should be an option to export the current frame as an image file. In Premiere it is as simple as file-> export -> frame

Go to EXPORT while parked on the frame. Select graphic from the options, then the desired flavor (TIFF for example). Select either 601/709 or RGB as color space. This will depend on where you are in your color correction process for video or computer, then click OK.

You can make a watermark in Photoshop. Import your logo to PS on a transparent background. Fade the logo transparency down to 20%. Avid can import and apply the transparency to your footage.

For open watermark you can also use the SUBCAP effect which has a text overlay that is user defined as well as the ability to do a timecode burn-in, etc
