Any 24p converters that work with AVI?

I have some 60i footage to mix with 24p and need to convert it.   I see DV Film does this but it outputs to mov format.  I then have to convert it back to AVI.

But this extra conversion causes quality loss right?  I would rather just have the file stay in AVI.  Any programs do this?

I'm pretty sure you can have DV film save your file as an .avi, but I could be wrong i guess.

It creates a mov and then you can export as AVI but it looks like total crap.

I personally just use vegas to convert some old 60i footage to 24p. I find it works quite well.

Make sure you set output options before you select "export". You have MANY format output options. If you do not choose, the default is MOV.

If you use Vegas, (shameless plug) Celluloid will do the conversion for you . . .

Using Vegas's own ability, of course. As scharky said, it works quite well.
