Anton Bauer mount - broken pin question

Hi, I've got a broken/missing pin on one of my A/B mounts for a Socanland light. Anybody know what the best method of repair would be?

I looked on amazon for a replacement A/B mount however they only have the 2 power pins where the one I have that is broken has 4. I don't know if I need those or not. If not I could just wire a new mount on there.

The other option may be replacing the broken pin? Does anybody know anything about going about it that option?

You used to be able to order those from AB, worth trying to contact them. Last one I replaced had a nut inside, then wire was soldered to the post, but this was back in betacam days so about 1997 or 98.

You only need the two big, outer pins to provide power to a device. The smaller ones in the center are for the digital communications between the battery and charger. I'd check with A/B first as Greg_E suggests. Second best would be to look for a scrapped camera or charger with an intact battery plate. I just sent two of them off to surplus a couple of days ago, or I would try to help you out directly. But colleges and TV stations probably are getting rid of this stuff all the time.

Thanks guys, I sent A/B an e-mail. Sounds like I could just buy one of those $12 mounts and just solder the wires together and be good to go..

THANKS! That is perfect. I just need to check mine to see if the pin came unscrewed or if the screw broke off inside.

Well, the good news is that's exactly the part I need. The bad news is it's $20 to ship, lol. But I took the pin out of one receptacle and put it in the other which means it didn't break off, it somehow got unscrewed.

I went ahead and just replaced the entire plate with a $12 one from Amazon. Works fine now. Required a bit of soldering.
