Has anyone used the Elight Z with their HVX? Just wondering how well the light actually works, and how much weight the light, and battery add to the cam. thanks
I have a 10 W bulb. I bought it because when I bought the HVX-200 that had the rebate that came with that AB Elipse Battery. The light is decent for 100 bucks, but there are better ones out there that are LED at about 300 bucks. You might be better spending the 300 on a better light. It has a throw of about 4 ft and it is only good for interviews. It is essentially enough light to add punch in a darker environment. It drops off after 4 ft, but again, it can pop your subject away from your background. I got about 2 hours out of it with the battery and camera. That was shooting b roll and turning it on when I had to interview talking heads. I have also had pretty good luck with it shooting interviewe at night with people inside moving cars.
